FILMWINTER '96: Grusswort des Kulturbürgermeisters
Bereits zum neunten Mal können wir zum Stuttgarter Filmwinter
Kurzfilmer aus aller Welt sehr herzlich in der
Landeshauptstadt begrüßen. Wie das diesjährige Programm
beweist, haben die Veranstalter des mittlerweile
traditionellen Festivals nichts von ihrem innovativen Schwung
verloren: Neben der klassischen Präsentation von Film- und
Videoarbeiten werden erstmals die Neuen Medien einbezogen und
künstlerische Werke auf CD-ROM und im Internet präsentiert.
Besonders freue ich mich darüber, daß ein großer Teil der
Veranstaltungen diesmal im neuen "Filmhaus Stuttgart"
stattfindet.
Es ist mir eine große Freude, daß es trotz der schwierigen
finanziellen Situation der Landeshauptstadt möglich ist, zu
Ehren der Kurzfilmer und des Filmwinters einen städtischen
Preis zur Verfügung zu stellen, um damit auch der städtischen
Wertschätzung Ausdruck zu verleihen.
Allen Besuchern wünsche ich schöne Tage in Stuttgart, den
Wettbewerbsteilnehmern viel Erfolg und den Veranstaltern gutes
Gelingen!

For the 9th time already we may give a warm welcome to the
shortfilmmakers from all over the world. The organizers of the
meanwhile traditional festival haven't lost anything of their
innovative zest, as is proved by this year's programme:
Besides the classic presentation of samples of film and video
art new media are included and works of art presented on
CD-Rom and on the Internet. I'm especially pleased that a
great part of the events taks place in the new Filmhaus
Stuttgrt this time.
I'm grateful for the country's capital being able to donate a
municipal prize to the shortfilm artists and the Filmwinter,
despite its difficult economic situation, in order to express
its appreciation.
I hope all the visitors will spend some nice days in
Stuttgart, and good luck for the participants of the
competition and the organizers of the festival.
