The works of Marja Mikkonen
Drifting Times curated by Marja Mikkonen These two screenings present eight short films made in Finland during the past ten years. Some of the films share the same crew, though the tasks of people vary according to the films: a director of one film might be the editor of another. Also, a few of the films have been made completely unaware of each other. Still, the films have a lot in common: the usage of voice-over, 8 mm film and archive footage, collage techniques, strong visual imagery, experimental or unusual editing and storytelling, all with an intimate, personal atmosphere. Both screenings will be presented and introduced by Marja Mikkonen.
